Best Things to Do in Moses Lake (2025 Local's Guide)
Moses Lake is a four-seasons outdoor town with a strong food scene if you know where to look. Here's what's worth your time.
The lake
Moses Lake itself is the centerpiece. Boat launches at Cascade Park and Connelly Park. Best summer swim spots are along the west and south shores. Fishing is solid year-round — bass, walleye, perch, crappie. Ice fishing kicks off late December most years. Paddleboards and kayaks rent in town if you don't have your own.
Parks
Cascade Park has playgrounds, a splash pad, and walking trails — the easy default. Blue Heron Park is quieter and great for fishing. McCosh Park has the public pool. Potholes State Park (15 min south) is the bigger camping and watersports destination.
Food
Local favorites include Michael's Restaurant for upscale comfort, Pizza Plus for the best slice in town, and Inca Restaurant for Peruvian — genuinely good. The downtown stretch on Third Avenue has a handful of independents worth your time. Coffee: Quincy's Espresso and Bean Burst Coffee are the locals' picks.
Day trips
Sand Dunes Recreation Area (south of town) for off-road fun and big sand views. Crab Creek Wildlife Area (an hour east) for birding. Wenatchee for orchards, wineries, and the bigger downtown. Tri-Cities for bigger-city restaurants and wineries. Spokane for everything else.
Annual events
Spring Festival in May, Independence Day on the lake (one of the better fireworks shows in the region), the Grant County Fair in August, and Oktoberfest in September. The lake's frozen-over years also bring impromptu ice-skating gatherings.
