Moving to Moses Lake — Your 30-Day Checklist
The first 30 days in a new city set the tone. Here's the checklist we give every new resident at Marina Shore Villas.
Week 1: Housing and logistics
Sign your lease and confirm move-in date. Set up renter's insurance (required). Forward mail via USPS. Arrange movers or rental truck. If moving from out of state, register your vehicle in Washington within 30 days.
Week 2: Utilities and services
Set up electric with Grant County PUD. Confirm internet with Grant County Fiber or your preferred provider. If your unit uses gas, set up Cascade Natural Gas. Update your driver's license and voter registration. Find a local primary care provider if you don't have one.
Week 3: Local orientation
Explore downtown — Safeway, Walmart, banks, post office. Try a local restaurant (we recommend Michael's or Inca). Walk Cascade Park. Find your preferred gas station and coffee shop. Meet a neighbor.
Week 4: Community and routine
Join a local Facebook group or Nextdoor. Find a gym or recreation routine. If you have kids, confirm school registration and bus routes. If you work remotely, test your internet speed and establish your home office setup.
